| Havent heard of Phoenix Reign? Well gather around and grab a seat, for I am about to tell you a story. A story about a band that has been around for many decades and a lot of people like yourself has not heard of them yet, but now is your chance to get to know them. I will discuss in great detail the many fascinating myths and legends about Phoenix Reign and how they came to be. I will also discuss the rise, the fall and the hugely popular and successful return of Phoenix Reign as we know it today. So are you ready?....No really, come on..... I SAID ARE YOU READY? Thats better. Lets begin. Like its name, New York City-based metal band Phoenix Reign rose out of the ashes - but in this case, the ashes of a once strong metal scene. Originally simply called Phoenix, it came into existence in Greece in the summer of 1998 with founding members Billy Chrissochos (guitars) and Chris Pollatos (bass). They joined forces with Kostas Psarros (guitars), and with Wayne Noon (drums) soon recorded their first demo with original singer Eugene Siouzos. Unfortunetly the demo was never passed around and few people have heard it (we like to keep it that way). We have played clubs like L'amour with Lynch Mob, as well as the then-kings of underground clubs Voodoo Lounge and Castle Heights with other metal acts like Zandelle, Gothic Knights and Twilight Odyssey. In 2002 Theresa Gaffney took over the vocals, the band started exploring new territory with successful shows in places like the Continental, Le Bar Bat and the Village Underground. In 2004, the band performed at the Good Times Magazine-sponsored Long Island Music Festival, and Don Hills where they played with Riot and Winger. They even broke into Latin territory as Budweiser sponsored them in the local Queens hotspot Made in Brazil, and in 2005 hit the world famous CBGBs. Still known as Phoenix the band began working on their first recordings with Theresa. One song from the previous demo was re-recorded and the rest was new material. This time the demo was sent out to numerous webzines and it received mixed reviews. A year later the band noticed all the other bands named Phoenix and decided to either change the name or add something to it. So they came up with Reign and it stuck. With the new name the band recorded some new songs and split them up into two different demos. Some songs still havent been released. Again the demos were passed out and received mixed reviews but this time the reviews were a little more positive and soon the band would be ready to record a full length album. In early 2006 the band started recording "Destination Unknown" and would take about a year to complete. It was completely self financed by the band. It brings to life several songs from the band’s demos like fan favorites ‘Another Night Alone’ and ‘Open Your Eyes’ (then known as Power) as well as new material, including the epic “Constantinople 1453 (On the Eve of the Fall).” This track epitomizes what Phoenix Reign is capable of as musicians, by blending traditional Mediterranean instruments with metal and creating an otherworldly sonic atmosphere. The album’s artwork is also notable, as it features the work of Iannis Nikou, the acclaimed Greek artist whose style is reflective of Delacroix and even Boris Vallejo. With the releases, Phoenix Reign has received radio play from local stations as well as internet stations. We have received coverage in several media outlets, including the Queens Tribune and Times Ledger newspapers, Neo Magazine and Sonic Cathedral’s well-respected webzine. We have also had articles and reviews in various magazines such as BW&BK (article one issue, compilation cd another issue), Metal Maniacs (a very positive review), Unrestrained (full page article) and many more. Since its release last year "Destination Unknown" has received positive reviews to everyone it has been sent to for reviews, radio play, you name it people are really into it and loving it. Earlier this year we made our first official video for the album of the song Masquerade Angel which features pieces of another Phoenix Reign related project called Atilla Attacks. Right now were working on another video but I can't give any details about that right now so you'll have to wait. For now I'll post some links you can check out to get some more info on us. Oh and last but not least December 1st we are playing with Turisas and Powerglove at the Chance in Poughkeepsie so go to our sites to purchase tickets if your in the area. Thanks for reading this. You may now resume to your regular schedualed program already in progress. | Its alright. I think the only one I spelled wrong was our old singer. We kind of wrote him out of the history books lol _________________ "Hey, I just got ran over by a car, and I'm bleeding in the middle of the road...I better post this on my Facebook or Twitter, just in case someone happens to be on..." -Unknown

| I am listening to "Destination Unkown" as I type this, Very, Very, good CD!!! I was just scrolling through a site called Aimee and stumbled across this. At first I didn't make the connection and as I kept looking at it I thought I know I have heard of this band somewhere and then "snap", I logged on to Heart Of Metal and scrolled down and here it is, I am totally digging this band. 20 years ago you guys would be headlining mega tours with this sound I find it very unfortunate that real quality bands are being overlooked in todays music scene. |

| Glad you like the cd! Whats this site Aimee? I never heard of it. We wish it was 20 years ago too but unfortunetly its not. Even if it was 20 years ago id only 9 years old and I really doubt we would have made the album we did haha. _________________ "Hey, I just got ran over by a car, and I'm bleeding in the middle of the road...I better post this on my Facebook or Twitter, just in case someone happens to be on..." -Unknown

| http://amiestreet.com/It says that is an independent music site to help get people to see and hear bands that don't have major label backing. Bands gather points to build popularity, I think as the popularity increases so does the placement of the band and the cost of the album also goes up but I really don't know exactly how it all works. I was under the assumption that it was all on the up and up but since you being a band member not being in on the workings of this site makes me wonder if it is legal. I sure hope it is, I have found some really cool tunes at Amie St. Phoenix Reign being one of them. |

| Found out it is legit. We were put on there by Cdbaby.com when we started to sell cds through them. We were added to a bunch of sites. No idea why our songs are for free though. We needs ta get paid! _________________ "Hey, I just got ran over by a car, and I'm bleeding in the middle of the road...I better post this on my Facebook or Twitter, just in case someone happens to be on..." -Unknown

| Exactly. Since the album was paid for pretty much out of our own pockets we have to make that money back and then some. Its bad enough we barely get paid for doing shows so our cds, mp3's, merchandise etc. is our guaranteed income. _________________ "Hey, I just got ran over by a car, and I'm bleeding in the middle of the road...I better post this on my Facebook or Twitter, just in case someone happens to be on..." -Unknown
