| How many of us visit the gym on a regular basis? I just started and I haven't felt better in ages. Still trying to learn what to do, when to do it, and what to eat. _________________ [ |

| I used to belong to a gym but since I bought my house, I put my own "gym" in the basement. I bought a Precor eliptical, a fully adjustable weight bench (flat, incline, decline) a dumbell rack and 6 sets of dumbbells ranging from 25lbs to 85lbs. Haven't been able to lift lately though due to tennis elbow in my left arm. I had the same problem in my right arm 10 years ago and ended up needing to have surgery. Let's hope I'm not going down that path again. _________________ "The banner of loud and rebellious music will never die. It just gets older." - GODSWIZARD

| Being that I have a Bowflex at home I work out at least 4 days a week and take NO2, Megamen Multivitamins, and a Protein drink mixed with bananas & Glutamine powder. I really need to focus more on my core because I hurt my back a few years ago and now suffer from Sciatica (a literal pain in the a$$). |

| I'm a fat and lazy SOB who can't seem to get the motivation to work out. I think about it but never go through with it. Hopefully one day that will change but without the motivation it just won't work. I did start a weight lifting regimine a while back but due to the arthritis in my wrist I had to stop. For now I try to go on 1-2 hour walks when weather permits. |

Smart! I did this as well (in my garage) when I couldn't stand Gold's Gym any longer. The terrible little "trainers" and their rules that said I couldn't use chalk or lift in blue jeans. I just stopped paying dues, saved my money and bought my own stuff._________________ I'm warning you. I'll be forced to Thrash you! |

| I'm a lazy ba$tard, I admit it. The closest I get to actual "exercising" is when I take my dog for his nightly walk. I don't think I even can consider myself "out of shape" because that phrase implies that you were, at one time, " in shape." _________________ "And everybody knows the center of the Universe is Huddersfield. | We have a nice community gym where I live. Nice set of machines, free weights, treadmill, eliptic machine, and bike. My cardio training has become my primary music listening time these days. Couldn't do the Eliptical/bike without it. I used to get motion sickness at regular gyms. The bright lights, the techno music, TVs, and mirrors were too much for me. Forget about the trainers. I need it dim and quiet for lifting, which is why I go early in the morning. Longer ago I had a home gym but found it hard to do a concentrated workout without getting distracted. It was hard to get into a full routine done all in one session. I like having to go somewhere for exercise. |

The down side it that it ain't cheap. I have over 3 grand invested in that stuff (my elipitical alone was around $2300). But then again, the fact that it's right here in my house and I don't have to drive anywhere to use it makes me more inclined to use it daily. _________________ "The banner of loud and rebellious music will never die. | I joined LA Fitness. Even got a trainer. If I hadn't gone that route, I probably would never have gotten in the gym at all, and I would have wasted away. I haven't felt better in ages. _________________ [ |

Thats the upside of working out. While during it and shortly afterwards you feel like crap, in the long run (once you've made a habit out of it) you feel better and more energized. Despite knowing this though I just can't get myself motivated and of course time and money have something to do with it but unfortunatly I'm not much of a self starter. Hopefully once I'm done with school and have a "normal" life (career, my own place, social life, etc.) I can get some home equipment, get a trainer in a fitness facility, or find somebody who can motivate me. |

| From experience, all I can say is at some time you just have to do it. No other way arouond it. I've made every excuse possible. I just wish I had made the decision to start working out a lot earlier in my life. I have a long ways to go to accomplish my goals, at some point I usually give up short of accomplishing my goals, but this time I think it's gonna work. Simply because I feel the benefits, and it feels good. _________________ [ |

| Whilst I hate exercise, I try to go to the gym around 3 times a week. It's worth it to fight off the beer belly and at the moment I seem to be losing fat and gaining muscle, so it's definitely worth my time. The only thing that makes the experience of exercise bearable is cranking my MP3 player rather loudly. |
