I saw it on tv last year, probably for the first time since I saw in the theater as a kid, and while I thought it was very interesting it's not hard to see why it flopped. It's a bizarre combination of Star Wars-ish elements like the cutesy robots and dark, metaphysical brooding - it's probably got more in common with 2001 than Star Wars. I wish I could go back in time and see what my child self made of the ending

I remember thinking "that was it?" of the ending when I first saw it. I kept waiting for another movie that never came..

It is a little metaphysical for a Disney flick. When I was a kid I remember asking my Mother if they were in Hell at the ending.

Went and saw paranormal activity, sweet movie, scared the crap outta me.

Also saw The Amtyville horror (remake) - not bad, but not truly scary.

Anvil : The Story Of Anvil awesome film, sweet funny, and truly heartbreaking.

I remember seeing The Black Hole as a wee lad at the Theater. I was impressed. To me it was good stuff as a kid.

As an adult it's just O.K. I see the hokieness. My kids got bored with it. It wasn't as grand or epic as Star Wars or LOTR for them, I guess. They're spoiled.

I saw "The Black Hole" in theatres when I was a kid too. I think I must've been about 9 when that came out. I remember it pretty much blew my mind at that time. Maximillian (that big red evil robot) scared the poop outta me cuz on the giant movie screen he looked like he was about 50 feet tall. The scene where he killed Anthony Perkins with his spinning blades haunted me for weeks!!

I saw it again for the first time since then about five years ago and though it hadn't aged very well I still enjoyed it. The ending is still pretty damned freaky though, especially for a Disney flick! I remember being creeped out by it as a kid too.

I thought it played well in the theater.

Fat Freddy - Yeah, Maximillion scared me, too.

Transformers 2 - quite possibly one of the worst films of all-time.

Michael Bay should be deported to Saturn.....

A couple years ago, I picked up the box set of all the Nightmare On Elm Street movies. I started working my way through them and gave up about 3/4 of the way. The sequels just got sillier and sillier; Freddy went from being an evil menace to being a bad standup comedian.

As a result, I never made it to "Wes Craven's New Nightmare".

Well, I finally started watching this and I gotta say it's pretty damn good. Freddy's back to being a dark, evil force and the story is pretty original. I like how the actors play themselves; even Wes Craven is in it.

I really like New Nightmare. The post-modern take is interesting and I like that the film gets Freddy away from the sub-Looney Tunes character he'd become and back to his Grimm's fairy tale villain roots.

Last movie I saw was Final Destination 2. Some of kills were pretty funny (and quite gory) but it's a very dumb movie overall.

Last I watched was 'Where The Wild Things Are'. In the context of a lesson, message, etc...that it drove so strongly at, and could have been so successful with..............it completely failed and came off as unfocused and, well.. trying too hard. A shame.
