One of the few creative and individual people in at the pointy end of the top 40, it's all art concept tying music, fashion and stage shows together.......she's got some kind of Warhol factory team behind her. The new "Material Girl"!
Her debut is a dirty trashy electro amalgamation of Bowie and Queen........i love this song, pure Freddy Mercury camp at the piano with the schizophrenic tempo changes of Laura Nyro.........

On the classic rock radio station this afternoon, the DJ said that some report called music "mankind's greatest achievement". He then added, "Apparently, they haven't heard of Lady Gaga."

You also think Amy Winehouse is the best thing since sliced bread.

Not like Bruce Springsteen is any better than her.

Yeah see, that was pretty cool, now if she could just move away from that "popular" crap.

Rattpoison you are one of the coolest guys on this board, but Lady GaGa's music to me sounds terrible. I can see the comparison between her and Madonna, but I always felt Madonna could always write (or co write) a catchy tune. Comparing her tempo changes to the great Laura Nyro was an interesting.
Of course it could be my age that prevents me from processing this music properly.
BTW, Schbob, I also happen to be a Amy Winehouse fan.

I'm not so much a fan of the electro radio hits she's had either but that song that i posted where she's at the piano is undeniably a great song, Nyro may have been a lazy reference but you can't help say it when the piano tempos drop and ascend like that. Some of the album tracks that aren't singles on her album are great and show her Bowie and Queen fixation. The album is hit and miss but she has potential and i like what she's getting at with the whole concept. Give her a bit of time i say.........after all it took Madonna a few albums in to her career to come up with a "Like A Prayer".

Don't have any clue who this is (never even heard of her til I saw this thread) and it sounds like I'm pretty lucky in that regard.
I've been thinking about this statement and others and I've realized I have no clue what's going on in pop culture anymore. I'm behind the loop on almost everything and I'm quite happy about it. I prefer being ignorantly bliss to the going ons of popularity (never really has been something I cared about since middle school anyway).

Where I come from, Gaga was a euphemism for Smurf Poo. Seriously, I can't help thinking of this whenever she is mentioned on the net or the radio. Peace.
