| There are many......but I'm going to have to go with....
Flick of the Switch!
My third fav AC/DC album (the others being BIB and FTATR). I don't know why this album got such a bad rep. Obviously, the production is much more raw than the previos Mutt Lange-produced albums, but it's basically the same stylistically as those albums (well, at least BIB and FTATR). The riffs are solid and crunchy, just like AC/DC is known for. The choruses are memorable. The overall mood of the album was a little darker, but they always made dark songs anyway. "Let Me Put My Love Into You" and "Snowblind" were darker than anything on the album. Most of the album is high energy, and even the slower songs ("Nervous Shakedown", "Badlands", "Rising Power") emit such power (like in "Inject the Venom"). This album is pure hard rock. Totally underrated! _________________ sword and shield, bone and steel, rictus grin...deaf forever to the battles din

| Actually, none of them. The ones I really like are the ones everyone likes. The ones I think are hit or miss are the ones everyone thinks are hit or miss. _________________ "There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats." - Albert Schweitzer |

| Dirty Deeds is the only one I could think of that might be underrated. But people from my generation still revere that album. _________________ "There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats." - Albert Schweitzer |

Yeah, Dirty Deeds is definitely undercredited. Some of their most obscure material is on that one. "Aint No Fun...." is such an awesome song. The cool thing about that album is how much it contrasts with the sound they developed on the next album. I think that at the time of Dirty Deeds, they weren't sure which direction they were gonna' go in. There's hard rock, punky stuff, comedy, long anthems, and blues. Those first two (or three for Aus) albums are so interesting. Cool cover, too. I need to get the Australian versions of the early albums. The ozzy cover is wicked. _________________ sword and shield, bone and steel, rictus grin...deaf forever to the battles din

| I'd say Dirty Deeds isn't that underrated considering its their 3rd highest selling record after the two biggies (you know em). But their's a great song buried on side B of that record that is totally underrated called 'Ride On'. Bon's finest moment and the bands greatest song. Volume turned down and heart turned up. What a beautifully bittersweet song. _________________ "...Got tattooed arms and rings in my ears Never gonna suffer a straight man's fears..."

| I can agree with Flick of the Switch.
I'd also have to say Powerage. It's one that gets lost in the shuffle but is really awesome! Not many "hits" on it. _________________

I bought that album four summers ago when I visiting my dad for a couple months in Manitoba. All I brought with me was one cd mix of AC/DC that I made (although back then, I had only about 15 cds anyway....all but 1 which were AC/DC). Anyway, as that album was basically all I had, I listened to it relgiously for those two months. I practically memorized it. In doing so, I gained a serious appreciation for it. It's a really cool album that shows a bit of a different (and I use that term loosely) side of AC/DC. I love the bluesy rhythym in "Meanstreak". And the solo in "This Means War" is absolutely explosive. I love those kinds of solos that come out of nowhere, like in "Angel of Death".
Kind of a tacky album cover, though. And, why, oh why, did they tamper with the lightning bolt in the band logo?! Blasphemy! _________________ sword and shield, bone and steel, rictus grin...deaf forever to the battles din

YES! that album gets passed over entirely too much. Ranks among my faves. As for the Bon Scott era, Ive never really heard anyone say anything negative about those albums unless they just don't flat out like the band, but I would say the Powerage gets lost in the shuffle alot for lack of "hits". _________________ www.deathbythrash.com |

No doubt. It's an incredible live album. I wish that they had released Live in Paris as their debut live album. I think that one trumps all others. _________________ sword and shield, bone and steel, rictus grin...deaf forever to the battles din

You're not alone, bro. I love that album, too. I think that's one of their coolest guitar albums. The solo in "First Blood" blows my mind. The riff is "Back in Business" is one of my favs. I think this album is where they started to bring in a few very slightly different elements. For instance, the intro to "Stand Up" is a little different than anythign they had done. "Send for the Man" is wicked cool, too. They had done the slower tunes, but there's something different about it. There's a lot of contrast in this album. I like that. _________________ sword and shield, bone and steel, rictus grin...deaf forever to the battles din

| | Ya know I haven't listened to any AC/DC in years, just lost interest in them. I would have to agree w/Flick of the Switch though, I remember reading in a Hit Parader at the time they thought the reason for the slip in sales and lack of interest in Flick was due to the plethora of new bands comming out at that time. We we're all caught up in the explosion of metal and so many choices, the Aussies just got lost in the mix. |
