TOP 5 or 6: 2009

The purpose of this thread is for me to see the cream of the crop.

There is no way any one of us can get each and every album released this year. So ... give me your top 5. Let me know the 5 albums I NEED to get this year!

If enough of you agree, I will buy them!

Anyway ... this is like the other thread in that you are ranking '09 albums, but just keep this one to top 5! Thanks!

For me - I would HIGHLY recommend these 5 albums. If you don't have them, you are missing out (especially if you are into power metal!)

1. Iron Fire ~ To the Grave (it just doesn't get much better than this!)
2. Vision Divine ~ 9 Degrees West of the Moon (this one is almost my number 1 pick, but I haven't had it long enough. It might well overtake Iron Fire in a few weeks though)
3. Saint Deamon ~ Pandeamonium
4. Sirenia ~ The 13th Floor
5. Primal Fear ~ 16.6

And if I could include one more, I'd say -

6. Ross the Boss ~ New Metal Leader

Out of those albums, I would rate 2 of them a perfect 10/10 score (Iron Fire and Vision Divine). 2 of them I'd rate a 9.5/10 (Saint Deamon and Sirenia), and the last two I'd rate at 9/10.

Only album I have bought this year that was a new release was Believer gabriel and that ruled. Also you can pretty much guarantee that Hiraxs el rostro de la muerte is going to be brilliant when it comes out.

I'll say the same thing here that I did at RI, I have yet to hear the new Diablo Swing Orchestra or the new Gotthard so I reserve my final ratings. But so far, my favorite albums of 2009 are:

Innocent Rosie - Bad Habit Romance
The Last Vegas - Whatever Gets You Off
Mainline Riders - Worldshaker

Yeah, it doesn't surprise me you aren't impressed with Mainline Riders because that new one is a DEAD RINGER for Bon Scott AC/DC.

I'll be happy to send you some Innocent Rosie in the morning. The songs I sent to PS7 are on my work comp.

My initial mistake was just sitting down and listening to it. It's better as something to listen to while you're doing something else. Makes great background music to poetry slams, being stoned, sewing circles, orgies...whatever you're into.
