| We have had a TON of new members signing up lately and we welcome you all. There has been much great discussion, debate, and knowledge introduced the last month or so. But we need to give everyone a "heads up" on how things are around here. Please don't look at these "rules" as fascist. They are common courtesies that have been in place for years and they have proved to be very effective. So, just a refresher course.
1 - Try not to use those words that may be offensive. We all know what they are. The cuss-filter gets most of them and turns them into "smurf-whatever", but not all of them. Please do not try to supercede the filter by the obvious methods. Alot of us swear like sailors in real life (Uncle Sax = GUILTY!) and sometimes it is tough to curb the urge for those words to come off our fingers. Just keep it in mind.
2 - No flaming. It is hard to know when someone is joking around with someone that does not know the other someone very well yet. That's alot of "someones". The members that have been around awhile know when another old member is joking - but a newer poster may not know when an older poster is joking with them. Also, vice-versa. If 2 members want to be light-hearted and they are not yet familiar with each other, make it CLEAR that your are just messin' around (IE; j/k - or a smiley emoticon etc). Logic comes into play alot of the time.
3 - Many "ism's" will not be tolerated whatsoever. Racism, Sexism, Religion-ism, etc. One warning and that's it. Do it again, and you're banned. Period!
Some of you will think that these rules are UN-METAL. Well, you're wrong. Metal is about unity. We can disagree about different bands, styles, genres, etc - but when it gets personal, it is no longer unified. Thusly, the above must stay in place to insure unity.
And one last thing, if anyone has ANY issues with a member, a post, the general atmosphere of a particular thread, PM an Admin or Mod. We are here for exactly that function. There is nothing that cannot be worked out!
So, with that, let's get back to our collective passion - METAL, METAL, METAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Just to chime in. The reason for the cussing rules and filters is not due to censorship, but rather because many work places and homes have filters that will block this site if these words are used. I know this for a fact because my work computer will block even threads on "Faster Pu$$ycat".

Wow, I thought my work filters were strict. They block YouTube, MySpace and Photobucket.

| | Besides it will help broaden many's vocabulary trying to come up with a non-offensive word that conveys the same meaning. A Thesaurus can be really handy and sometimes blow peoples minds trying to figure out just what your saying. Haha. |

| I have no problem with those rules. I try to keep cuss words to a minumum and use an
[*] to block out letters. Most of the time it is when I'm quoting somebody. Also I use the icons with extreme prejudice when I'm joking around to avoid any misunderstandigs:

Although I'm unemployed, the place I used to work at did, too. Facebook was also blocked. |
